Dual micro armatures

The dual micro armatures of q-JAYS are the smallest in the world. The technique is the same as d-JAYS but each earphone has one woofer for the mids and low frequencies and one tweeter for the detailed highs.

By dividing the frequency curve on separate drivers it is possible to get an even clearer sound than with single armature drivers.

Micro armature

JAYS’ technology is based on Henry Egerton’s balanced armature patent from 1918, now redesigned and improved to suit consumer earphones. The coil and armature act as an electromagnet and an alternating current in the coil causes the polarity of the armature to switch back and forth.

The free end of the armature bends slightly up and down as it is attracted alternately to the top and bottom magnets. The diaphragm is pulled along by the drive rod and pumps air in and out of the speaker and the mechanical motion is converted into sound. This construction allows a precise modification of the armature, yet keeping the mechanical parts extremely small. Science generated sound.

Flexible Cord and Input Connector

Sound of Science

Redesigned and improved. JAYS’ dynamic driver technology is based on traditional dynamic speakers, but each part has been optimized separately before matched and fine tuned together.

JAYS’ dynamic drivers feature a multi layer diaphragm which is put through a special process to obtain its unique characteristics. The elasticity in the diaphragm allows it to follow the movement of the improved, easily driven, lightweight voice coil. The core is a powerful Neodymium magnet and with the customized airflow system which vents the whole construction - Science will once again have generated truly amazing sound.

The v-JAYS speaker element The heavy sound of the v-JAYS headphones comes from two 40mm Mylar speakers.
